What a copy cat!!!-2

A blog friend, the alpha numeric, D2, said it and it seems I could not hold myself from posting this.

Here goes yet another example of perfect copy cat.

The video of the Hindi song, that now stands guilty at my trial court...sorry friends...I just got too excited!!

Raja Ko Rani Se

Here is the song 'Raja Ko Rani Se' from movie 'Akele Hum Akele Tum'.

raaja ko raani se pyaar ho gayaa

The king fell in love with the queen;

pahali nazar mein pahala pyaar ho gaya
from the very first glance sprang his very first love.

dil jigar donon ghaayal huye
The hearts of both were wounded

tir-e-nazar dil ke paar ho gaya
by an arrowed glance that breached the hearts' walls.

raaja ko raani se pyaar ho gayaa...
The king fell in love with the queen...

raahon se raahein baahon se baahein milke bhi milti nahin
Yet in finding the path, in discovering an embrace, neither their path nor their embrace is assured.

hota hai aksar armaan ki kaliyaan
This often happens; the buds of desire,

khilke bhi khilti nahin
blossoming, do not flower.

phir bhi na jaane kyon nahin maane...
Even so, who knows why it did not obey...

diwaana dil beqaraar ho gaya
the mad heart grew uncontrollably restless.

raaja ko raani se pyaar ho gaya...
The king fell in love with the queen;

raani ko dekho nazarein mili
to Look at the queen; meeting her gaze,

aankhein churaane lagi
she hid her eyes (for shame).

karti bhi kya voh sar ko jhukaake
What else could she do; bowing her head,

kangana ghumaane lagi
her bangles began to twirl.

raaja ne aisa jaaduu chalaaya...
Such was the spell that the king cast...

na karte karte ikaraar ho gaya
even as she demurred, she consented.

And now the source of the copied one.....none other than "The Godfather".

Friends, families and enemies, waiting for your noble heart warming comments...com'on Charlies let it flow...here.

What a copy cat!!!

It goes without saying that our Indian musicians borrow so much from western music. This is most applicable to our Bollywood music-the prominent film industry in our country. There was this movie in the year 1996 called-dastak(the sign). This song-"windmills of your mind" might have impressed the musician of the Indian movie and he ended up using the soundtrack.

The plot of the movie dastak(sign)

Dastak is a story of a mentally unstable genius (Sharad Kapoor) and his obsession for the Miss Universe (Sushmita Sen). His unparalleled obsession makes him so possessive about her that he begins to kill people around her so that he can come close to her. Sharad Kapoor succeeds in kidnapping her and keeping her in confinement but ultimately she succeeds in getting herself free from his obsessive clutches. Mukul Dev plays the role of a police officer who tries to rescue Sushmita Sen from Sharad Kapoor.
Sharad viz, Sule watched his television in his small apartment in Bombay circa 1994 when there was a live telecast of the crowning of Miss Universe pageant. He watched as the second runner-up (Venezuela), first runner-up (Colombia) and finally the title go to India's Sushimita Sen. He hit the pause button on the remote control froze Sushmita's face and kissed her. Then he began the tedious task of tracking Sushmita wherever she traveled, and on one occasion asked her for an autograph on the palm of his hand, which she refused. By doing so, Sushmita did not realize that she had opened an door in her life that would take her to distant Seychelles running away from an obsessed fan - a decision that will entrap her on a lonely island with no one for company except the man who claims he loves her most in the world - and the one she dreads the most.

Now the lyrics of the song and the translation too.

The Hindi lyrics

Tumhe kaise mein bataun
(how can I narrate to you?)
Tumhe kaise mein kahu
(how can i tell you?)
Mere bas mein agar ho to
(it it is possible by me)
Mein bas itna hi karun
(all i can do, is to)
Tumhe din bhar
(watch you the whole day)
Tumhe har pal
(watch you every moment)
Dekhta hi mein rahu
(and keep watching you on and on)
Tumhe dekhu,Tumhe chahoon
(i would love to see, want you)
Tumhe punju har pal
(worship you, every moment)
Tumhe sochu ,Tumhe samjhu
(i would think about you, would try to understand you)
Tumhe Mangu har pal
(i would want you every moment)
Tumhe gungunau Tumhe gau har pal
(would love to hum a song in your name every moment)
Mein tumhara hoon esha
(i am your such a )
Deewana meri jaan
(lover my dear)

Mera marna bhi tumhi ho
(i see my end in you)
Mera jeena bhi ho tum
(i see my life in you)
Meri madira bhi tumhi ho
(you are my rhythm)
Mera Beeena bhi ho tum
(you are my string of sounds)
Mera chandi bhi tumhi ho
(you are my silver)
Mera sona bhi ho tum
(you are my gold)
Mera hasna bhi tumhi ho
(you are my smiles and laughter)
Mera roona bhi ho tum
(you are my tears)
Meri sari saason mein
(In my whole breathe)
Tum jaise ho ghuli
(you are mingled about)
Meri aankhen tumhe dekhe
(my eyes watch you)
Chahe band ho ya khuli
(in spite of being open or closed)

Mein tumhara hoon esha
(i am your such a )
Deewana meri jaan
(lover my dear)

Meri dil mein hai yeh armaan
(there is a wish in my heart)
Tumhe ek din mein pauu
(that one day I might get you)
Es amber se bhi aaghe tumhein lekar jau
(i would take with me beyond this sky)
Jahan raahoon mein ho bekhree sab chand aur taare
(to a place where roads are filled with the stars of the heaven and the glowing moon)
Jahan geeton ke behte ho meethe ghaare
(where songs are as melodies as ever)
Jahan khwaabo ki duniya kabhi soi nahi ho
(a place filled with the world of fragrance that has never fallen asleep)
Jahan tum ho jahan mein hoon aur koi nahi ho
(and there is you and me and no one else)

Mein tumhara hoon esha
(i am your such a )
Deewana meri jaan
(lover my dear)

This song is eerie and a rendition belonging to one obsessed with love. If you have read "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte- the song would perhaps go well in the lips of the obsessed lover, Heathcliff. I am also providing the link to the plot of the book, for you to understand.

Wuthering Heights

I was looking for the Hindi song and then chanced upon its English version, and then a brother ended up providing me the French version.

Lyrics in English of Por Una Cabeza (By The Head of a Horse)

Losing by a head of a noble horse
who slackens just down the stretch
and when it comes back it seems to say:
don't forget brother,
You know, you shouldn't bet.

Losing by a head, instant violent love
of that flirtatious and cheerful woman
who, swearing with a smile
a love she's lying about,
burns in a blaze all my love.

Losing by a head
there was all that madness;
her mouth in a kiss
wipes out the sadness,
it soothes the bitterness.

Losing by a head
if she forgets me,
no matter to lose
my life a thousand times;
what to live for?

Many deceptions, loosing by a head...
I swore a thousand times not to insist again
but if a look sways me on passing by
her lips of fire, I want to kiss once more.

Enough of race tracks, no more gambling,
a photo-finish I'm not watching again,
but if a pony looks like a sure thing on Sunday,
I'll bet everything again, what can I do?

A neighborhood like this!!!

Movies, series and the latest inclusion the drama with every new ad....I love to go gaga about all of it. A Plain Jane...OK I might be...but a bit of drama in life...even the street dogs wouldn't complain..if you perform bathrooms songs for a while....say, especially late in the summer nights...I am talking about the ghastly humid ones ;).

Well, I would love to have a neighbor capable of this:

Or say the smart kid around to get rid of the unwanted crow....Sorry Mr. Phoonk Director (Ram Gopal Verma) I hate this domestic loving scavenger birds.

Perhaps some smart ladies in exchange of the regular lunatics...I wont mind...no never.

Not exactly a neighborhood, but something bigger than that is always fine...and especially the one that can pop in such delicacies almost out of thin air....I am not saying this...it's all my sweet tooth's doing :).

Lastly something for the boys too...oh girls com' on..they too need some eye relaxation, while they bat it out in the heat....showing of all that gulli cricket skills...

Going coffee crazy today

I hate the doc who said I should not be indulging in it. I hate the woman who sips a mug filled with it in front of me, and never leave out even a sip for me. I hate to say it, but I have discovered a new definition for myself.

I AM COFFEE MANIAC!

Today, its a bit chilly here. I am not complaining about it. For I did want to get away from those harsh summer days and I do love to share a platonic love life with the monsoon season. So this is what I did, from the time I have switched on the computer and typed the golden words in the Google search bar ....

1)

A breakfast treat...ummmm!

2)

A sip I can share with a loved one......[:)]

3)

A fling or tryst....I would not mind ;)

4)

Back to the origins...What do you say! Come on, let's take the trip together!

5)

Some sweet talk amidst all bitterness.

6)

Lets turn into creamy artists-our canvas...some cups of steaming coffee.

7)

Difference of taste but friends and lovers of one and only COFFEE.

8)

A weekend trip to the country side...lets celebrate with coffee.

9)

Pouring out the accumulated emotions...with coffee.

10)

Closing the day, in the devil's own way.

This award came to me soon after, Zave honored me. This time it was a wonderful poet with a alpha numeric name D2. I have long since strangely to give my scribbling off-springs a name of their own. And these awards surely help them to mature. thanks a lot D2.

That tinkling fearless heart....

This post was inspired from a comment given by nkr4068, on my post called "Remembering Tagore". Indeed, this poem of the Nobel laureate did influence me a lot, when I was to small to understand the ways of the world. My grandfather would recite it to me, amidst our evening talks.A girl merely four years of age, could understand nothing, but surely could feel a strange power gushing into her veins. Later on, I would connect these lines with the "concept of Utopia", and openly brush it all under the carpet. Nevertheless I can not deny my spirit and likewise many other spirits who live life by saddling on the back of Hope.

For those who want to read the poem:

Here are the lines for you-

Where The Mind Is Without Fear
by Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941)

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high,
Where knowledge is free,
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls,
Where words come out from the depth of truth,
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection,
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit,
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action -
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.

little

 What more can I ask
From the morning sun?

A pinch of good luck
A sleepy, silent night...

warrior

Ever since born,
Wearing an Armour
A sword in hand,
A shield in the other,
Fighting hurdles,
Serpents disguised in saints,
No time to rest
No time to contemplate
No friends at arms length
And enemies are tired-less
Or are they all
Draped in the suits,
Lost in a mist
Fate and time are making love...
Who know who is who
"Friend or foe!"
Echo calls again and again
Conch shells blowing
Wild or civilized
Life is montage
Or a mirage
Or else a old piece of forgotten photo

Life is a joke
Looking out from
Scattered broken pieces of mirror.

BRAIN-STORM

It feels like a ragging sun,
 Rolling lava screaming inside
A protest march of thousand sinews
Millions of throbbing vocal cords
Mouthing a single word
Two letter defiance
A single and strong NO…
The armor clang against the self
The maze breathe vengeance
The shield empowers forgotten strength
Shoulders dry mind numb
Its war time
It’s time to slaughter
To kill the brainless
Survival for the fittest
Die the unfit
Who is that hiding under the shield
The maze
The sword
The strength
The bravest killer
The meek servitude
The silent victim
The victimizer
The dichotomy
The two sides overlap….

A beginning or an end

You were born
To take my place...
To take forward
What I today...
Leave behind...
YOU were born
TO deliver
What I did
But half way...
What more could
A father
Ask from his son...
Sadly daughters
Are never
An object of concern...
Life goes on
And for centuries
It will...
One will
Die
And many
Will take its place.

Remembering Tagore

I am not a Tagore fanatic. I mean I do not "eat drink and sleep" reading Rabindranath Tagore or even listening to his songs. I revere the poet's ability to move the world with his words and I have read his works and listened to his songs, whenever I could. Last week, a music school, near my house celebrated the 150 years of the poet's birth anniversary. They had called in celebrity singers and much more. I chose to stay indoors and read a book...with a line running in my mind:

"A hundred years from today
who are you, sitting, reading a poem of mine,
                under curiosity’s sway -
           a hundred years from today?"

To read the whole poem" click"

Incidentally, when my father returned home that night, he mused," I salute this poet not because he got us a Nobel, but because he dared to say-A hundred years from today... Such was the confidence of the man...He is now an institution, the city is sporting his face across the billboards." I nodded my head over the dinner.

What else could a simple man and his daughter say!

When Owen Made My speechless

Each time, that I read Wilfred Owen's "Spring Offensive", I realized, I was blessed to be born much after the war. Here, I am trying to struggle with rather a peaceful world, calling it something similar to Dante's Chaos. And when the poet wrote this piece, he was fighting along the frontiers. I marvel at that daring heart, which could look for beauty amidst raging battle.

For those who don't know about the poem, feel free to read through these links:
1)Read the poem at POEMHUNTER(dot)COM
2)Read about the poet

Boatsman

(Please note that I have tried to build the innocence that accompanies a child's perception and therefore have tried to keep the poem as crude as possible. Read it, thinking a small girl was telling you the whole and not me.)
A song on his lips,
A bare figure,
A smile of he lips,
The sound of the oars,
"Boats man, which way
Do you go?"

As he slowly
Turn into a speck
Over that river bend...
I wonder about his
name...
On days
when the world is bright
I think him
To be another
Helper of God...
Who fixes
The bonds
Of estranged mortals,
With smile on his face.

On days
When the wind is high
When the horizon is dark
When it seems
That the rain god
Is out to
ruin my world...
I think him to be
a brother of Charon
Who ferries
People to the lair
Lord Death.

(Though the image carries a meaning of its own and is yet again provided by Aritra Chatterjee, I took my own liberty and wrote something distinctly different. It is tale once told to me by a little girl, who believed in the stories of Demons and Gods. Here I tried to pay tribute to that friend, I did lose in the journey called life. As a child, I remember playing with her, But I don't recall her name...may be she was our maid's daughter, or the daughter of our neighbor's maid...no I remember nothing of it. All I recall was the strange perception she harbored of her homeland, and of the river and of the many boats men she got to see, while playing along with friends of her age, on the gullible river banks. )

When images speak, poetry takes a back seat!

Some times poems cannot reveal the thoughts that run in our mind...The following links came to me through email, from a friend who had lovely sent me...out here I am sharing them with you...for a change let us feel the world and let us think about the new ideas which we can give birth to!

We are on Our way

They whisper
To me...
"We are on our way...".

They call my name
Each time
I give up hope...

They seem to tug
At my tattered clothes,
"We are on our way...".

Just hold on to your soul,
Be with peace..
Just believe
That you can live along
Perched onto
This weird world
"We are on our way...".

winged winds

Though fluttering,
Amused
With what the sun
Frolics with.

Though tensed and silent,
When the lightening
Prepares to strike.

Though carefree
and frisky,
When the gulls
Hit the shore.

Though pondering over,
The setting sun
And creeping moon.

My winged winds
Never leave me
alone....

Sound of Raindrops

Imagine
For once
The sound
Of raindrops,
Falling across
Your window pane,
Or on the perched earth,
On the pebbled path,
On the brick wall
Standing forlorn
Beyond your house,
Or on the shrubs and bushes
On the stretched out
Branches and half bloomed flowers
With slowly opening petals
With an eagerness
Of a shy maiden,
To see the world about.

Imagine,
For its too tiny a sound,
To make way
Through
The daily tantrum,
The bustling voices,
The jostling inner thoughts,
The humdrum
That clogs about your ears.

Just imagine
That you are
Hearing it
All at once,
At this moment...

Perhaps-they are
Not too far...

A Perfect Elopement

It so seems that,
My spirit
Is no longer
With me.
A beating heart
Within this rib cage,
Moans aloud
Suggesting its absence,
Now and then.
My spirit was eloped
A tryst or so,
I had previously thought,
When I first saw them together.
But little did I know,
The clandestine affair
Would leave
Me, barren...
In the days to come.
My spirit has eloped,
With none..
But the wild, rain clouds,
With the brothers
Of thunderstorm,
With the keepers
Of madding shower...
With the masters of
Those who left...
Drenching my nerves...
The other weary day.

An Illusion Called Colossus

Swirling skirt
My dancing girl
A mirage of
My little known
Ruined past.

A hag
Weaves
A dark warper
With eyes that never
Saw the light.

In the distance,
She waits,
With eyes cast
on the bended path
Along her road,
Thinking I will some day
Pass by...

But I had a tale
Stitched to my coat
A tale I cannot share.

The mirage
Fades, overlaps
And leaves behind
The colossus smokey remains
A uncanny trail
That I keep walking away from.

It is dusk, the day has come
To yet another end,
The meadow waits
For the star cast night,
I walk away...
Away and further away...
From a dream
I find too hard
To share.

(The image was yet again provided by a noble friend: Aritra Chatterjee, with a demand:
"well I'm sending this picture, I'm giving u all the freedom... interpret it yourself and give it your words...".
I think I have tried to do some justice to the image. It actually took me several days to understand the image, the credit of creating the vast illusion of course goes to the owner of the image, who has with dexterity, provided such comprehensive rendition.  )

Colorblind- Darius Danesh

Feeling blue
When I'm trying to forget the feeling
That I miss you

Feeling green
When the jealousy swells and it won't
Go away in dreams

Feeling yellow
I'm confused inside a little hazy but mellow
When I feel your eyes on me

Feeling fine, sublime
When that smile of yours
Creeps into my mind

ohhhh.....

Nobody told me it feels so good
Nobody said you'd be so beautiful
Nobody warned me about your smile
You're the light
You're the light
When I close my eyes
I'm colourblind
You make me colourblind

Feeling red
When you spend all your time with your friends
And not me instead

Feeling black
When I think about all of the things that
I feel I lack

Feeling jaded
When it's not gone right
All the colours have faded
Then I feel your eyes on me

Feeling fine, sublime
When that smile of yours
Creeps into my mind

mmmm....

Nobody told me it feels so good
Nobody said you'd be so beautiful
Nobody warned me about your smile
You're the light
You're the light
When I close my eyes
I'm colourblind
You make me colourblind

Blinded by the light you shine
The colours fade completely
Blinded by you everytime
I feel your smile defeat me
I'm colourblind
I just can't deny this feeling

Nobody told me it feels so good
Nobody said you'd be so beautiful
Nobody warned me about your smile
You're the light
You're the light
When I close my eyes
I'm colourblind

Nobody told me it feels so good
Nobody said you'd be so beautiful
Nobody warned me about your smile
You're the light
You're the light
When I close my eyes
I'm colourblind
(your the light
your the light
when i close my eyes)
You make me colourblind

(your the light
your the light
when i close my eyes)
you make me colorblind

(your the light
your the light
when i close my eyes
i'm colorblind)

(fading)
nobody told me it feels so good...

In Her Eyes-Josh Gorban

She stares through my shadow
She sees something more
Believes there's a light in me
She is sure
And her truth makes me stronger
Does she realize
I awake every morning
With her strength by my side

I am not a hero
I am not an angel
I am just a man
Man who's trying to love her
Unlike any other
In her eyes I am

This world keeps on spinning
Only she stills my heart
She's my inspiration
She's my northern star
I don't count my possession
All I call mine
I will give her completely
To the end of all time

I am not a hero
I am not an angel
I am just a man
Man who's trying to love her
Unlike any other
In her eyes I am

In her eyes I see the sky and all I'll ever need
In her eyes time passes by and she is with me

I am not a hero
I am not an angel
I am just a man
Man who's trying to love her

Ye Paagal Na Jaane
Ziddi Bada Hai
Zid Pe Adaa Hai
Aa Jao Aa Bhi Jao
Is Ko Manaane
Kyon Chupate Ho Mann Ki Baat
Keh Bhi Do Beeti Jaye Raat
Dooriyaan Kis Liye
De Do Haathon Mein Haath...
Humse Mohabbat
Karte Ho Tum Bhi
Hum Jitna Marte Tumpe
Marte Ho Tum Bhi
Humko Pataa Hai
Dil Jaanta Hai
Tanhaiyoon Mein
Aahein Bharte Ho Tum Bhi
Kyon Chupate Ho Mann Ki Baat
Keh Bhi Do Beeti Jaye Raat
Dooriyaan Kis Liye
De Do Haathon Mein Haath
Dil Bhi Tumhara Hai
Hum Bhi Tumhare Hai
Mann Mein Machchalte
Armaan Humare Hai
Dekho Sitaare Karte Ishare Hain
Kar Lo Mohabbat Kamsim Nazarey Hain

Every time I look at you-Il divo

I used to think that I was strong
I realise now I was wrong
'Cause every time I see your face
My mind becomes an empty space
And with you lying next to me
Feels Like I can hardly breathe

I close my eyes
The moment I surrender to you
Let love be blind
Innocent and tenderly true
So lead me through tonight
But please turn out the light
'Cause I'm lost every time I look at you

And in the morning when you go
Wake me gently so I'll know
That loving you was not a dream
And whisper softly what it means to be with me
Then every moment we're apart
Will be a lifetime to my heart

I close my eyes
The moment I surrender to you
Let love be blind
Innocent and tenderly true
So lead me through tonight
But please, please turn out the light
'Cause I'm lost every time I look at you
Lost. Every time I look at you

Simon Webbe-lay your hands on me

Sometimes life can be a burden
Tryna stay one step ahead
I feel the world upon my shoulder each time
I'm standing out on the edge
And my hopes have all deserted me
Like they washed away in the sand
And it's hurting my pride
Tryna survive
But i know i stand a chance

When you lay your hands
Oh yeah
'Coz it's the only thing I have that still makes sense

(Oh baby, when I'm calling out)
Give me love and affection,
Keep telling me, show me the way.
(Oh, if you see me falling down)
Lift me up from the shadows
Will you take me away to a better place?
(And when I'm in my darkest hour)
You're by my side, to turn the tide,
Until the suffering fades.
When life is getting me down,
getting me down, i'm close to defeat,
Come and lay ur hands on me.

Feel this road is getting longer now
And i'm too far away from home
Still I gotta keep on moving on
But I can't do it on my own
Baby keep my head above water
Help me swim for my life
'Coz the game is getting harder
The strain is gettin stronger
And I can only face the fight

When you lay your hands
Oh yeah
'Coz it's the only thing I have that still makes sense

(Oh baby, when I'm calling out)
Give me love and affection,
Keep telling me, show me the way.
(Oh, if you see me falling down)
Lift me up from the shadows
Will you take me away to a better place?
(And when I'm in my darkest hour)
You're by my side, to turn the tide,
Until the suffering fades.
When life is getting me down,
getting me down, i'm close to defeat,
Come and lay ur hands on me..

'Til I'm healed again,
Rediscovered my strengths,
Those bitter blues are gone...
Oh, gone...

(Oh baby, when I'm calling out)
Give me love and affection,
Keep telling me, show me the way.
(Oh, if you see me falling down)
Lift me up from the shadows
Will you take me away to a better place?
(And when I'm in my darkest hour)
You're by my side, to turn the tide,
Until the suffering fades.
When life is getting me down,
getting me down, i'm close to defeat,
Come and lay ur hands on me.

Come and lay your hands on me.

seventeen-by simon webbe

Seventeen, I was living life
Chasing dreams and my hopes were high
Trying to get around my fear of
When and where do I go from here

I asked somebody close to me
Who could see a lot further than a boy could see
Oh, oh, oh and he said...

Oh my, oh my, oh my these days are flying by
I still feel seventeen inside, not one day over
Don't let the trials of life, change who you are tonight
Stay seventeen each time you get one year older

I said you're at that time of life when your heart is strong
Your future's bright, you can do no wrong
And don't you let those feelings out of sight
Keep a hold of them as the years go rolling by

These words have always stuck with me
But now I'm only getting what it all appears to mean
Oh, oh, oh and he said...

Oh my, oh my, oh my these days are flying by
I still feel seventeen inside, not one day over
Don't let the trials of life, change who you are tonight
Stay seventeen each time you get one year older

He said...my years have come and gone, in oh such little time
And I hope you live your life the way that I lived mine
Stay young at heart, stay young in mind

So I said...

Oh my, oh my, oh my these days are flying by
I'm still seventeen inside, not one day over
I won't let the trials of life, change who I am tonight
Stay seventeen each time you get one year older

One year older, one year older....oh my oh my oh my oh my

So stay seventeen each time you get one year older

windminds of your mind-by dusty springfield

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnaval balloon
Like a carousell that's turning
Running rings around the moon

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that I said
Lovers walking allong the shore,
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circle that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Explanation:
The song is meant to convey the feelings of the singer as hegrapples with the almost overwhelming emotional confusion brought on bythe ending of a brief, but intense love affair.

FIRST PARAGRAPH
Ashis mind races back to the beginning of their relationship, the firststanza describes the intoxicating joy of their passionate love(possibly a "first" love) with the "circle in a spiral" and "a wheelwithin a wheel" and the roller-coaster-like effect of new love "neverending or beginning on an ever-spinning reel". The joy of therelationship and how fast it grew is also conveyed with "snowball on amountain" and "carnival balloon". And "a carousel that's turning ringsaround the moon" signifies the giddly heights of his affection and joy.

Therepeating line "like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutesof its face" represents how fast time flew while in their relationship.

"And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space" represents the purity of their world and of their relationship.

SECOND PARAGRAPH
This paragraph represents the feelings of despair as the realization of the relationship's ending sinks in.

Usingimagery that expresses feeling hopelessly lost "Like a tunnel that youfollow to a tunnel of its own, down a hollow to a cavern where the sunhas never shown".

The nightmare feeling of her leavinghim is expressed as "Like a door that keeps revolving in a halfforgotten dream" and he feels the loneliness of her rejection with theline "or the ripples from a pebble someone tosses in a stream".

Therepeating lines of "Like the clock whose hands are sweeping past theminutes of its face, And the world is like an apple whirling silentlyin space" are used here to describe the slowing of time as therelationship winds down and the solitary apple is now represents thefeeling of sadness of being alone.

THIRD PARAGRAPH
Thisparagraph brings us to the singer's present consciousness (signified by"Keys that jingle in your pocket") as he continues to relive hismemories in search for answers.

"Words that jangle in your head" represent how distracted he is now.

"Why did summer go so quickly" represents the possible timespan of their affair.

"Was it something that you said?" represents the natural questioning we go through after a breakup.

"Lovers walk along a shore and leave their footprints in the sand" represents his romantic illusions of their relationship and, like footprints in the sand, how fleeting their relationship seemed.

"Isthe sound of distant drumming just the fingers of your hand?" again, represents his inability to focus through his sadness or to even beaware of his surroundings.

"Pictures hanging in ahallway, and the fragment of a song, Half-remembered names and faces, but to whom do they belong?" probably represent the various artifactsof their relationship, including photos of the friends they made whilethey were a couple. "To whom do they belong?" could be questioning ifthese people are now HER friends or HIS friends. "Half remembered namesand faces" indicates just how much he was emotionally invested in therelationship; to the point where everyone else was just in thebackground.

"When you knew that it was over, you weresuddenly aware that the autumn leaves were turning to the color of herhair." I cannot do justice to this line, but it probably means thateverything beautiful now reminds him of his lost love.

FOURTH PARAGRAPH
Thisparagraph is a repeat of of the "circle in a spiral" imagery which isto indicate that his sorrow continues as he tries to recover from abroken heart.

Falling Free

Falling free
Or soaring high

I know
Not why
But I
Want to fly.

NO,
It's not a song....
But a maiden wish...
A want to reach
up to the stars
And fly off with clouds...

My window teaches
weaves and preaches
strange tales all night...
My heart is skipping
A wish of
Falling free.
