Daddy day and The Lonely Bites

Monday brings in freshness, if we simply ignore the blues!

Knowing that the person to whom the falling poem is dedicated will perhaps never even read it, I share and gift it to him.

Daddy Day and Lonely Bites

Missing those little
Nonsense games,
We played together.

Can't remember
The last time
You actually hugged me.

Each time you say,
"You are a big girl now",
The little one,
inside,
is pushed away.

We believed in different things,
Aspired for different lives.

Yet, we never could say,
How terribly,
Both of us,
wanted to play,
those nonsense games,
Once again...

A little gift from Jingle poetry:

Beautiful, but sad.

Nicely done.

This is beautiful and so sad I wrote a poem Paper Crane I submitted where I speak of being unable to establish a closeness with my mother that I would like and the sense of missing and lose. This really affects me very deeply, beautifully done

I know exactly what your saying--from the father's side of it. I miss things I had with my sons, and things we didn't have. So many times I've wished I could have a do-over. Nice poem. Evoked much emotion. Good job.

When you say the little girl is pushed away it makes an impact on the reader. I will remember that as a parent.. Beautiful!
