Book Review: “Chicken soup for the Indian soul at work”

(published by REVIEW TEAM)
“Chicken soup for the Indian soul at work” is a book to look out for. After all, it’s subtitled- “teens talk growing up’! There isn’t much confusion about what it deals with. One can sum it all up by saying that this book is a slice of life, talking about people who have faced some tough times and have survived through it all. The focus is on the Indian youngsters. They are the people whom we neglect thinking them to be too young to understand yet bordering adulthood. Yet in their own way they have faced some adversities in life and have battled them, ultimately surpassing them all and coming out on top. The key is not to give up and have unrelenting faith in you even if the situation is utterly hopeless. This book is a tribute to all these individuals.

3# 50 to 100 words: Love Cornered

This post is written on the occasion of the writer's birthday, and on the special request from Sourav C. Pandey

Sweating and puffing, your own heart beating,
" Wow cant wait she must be planning..."
 You know the meal,
But you don’t know what’s waiting.
Its ringing in your head,
Her special request...
You stare at her now and then,
 Noticing her special gait,
Her new look and all the other things,
You wished you could make your own.
You perhaps even dare to like her,
 But your paining heart,
Keeps your emotions at bay.
The dinner gets over,
 The clouds take their leave.
You watch her leave too,
 Never knowing
Even she had something to say.

Modern Love letters

Keeping the mood of the love cornered contest (check the contest page) here is a little intro to the blushing love hungry gals and the wanna be beaus :)

In my opinion writing a letter is an art. We all forget when we write that last letter.
The old system of letters in post is used by very few now.
I really hate that. Now a days if you receive one letter by post from a friend...
I hope it really means a lot.
Anyway here is one sample of Modern Love Letters in a New Style.

SAMPLE OF A MODERN LOVE LETTER...

Dearest Samantha,

I am very happy to inform you that I have fallen in love with you since Tuesday, the 20th of June 2009.

With reference to the meeting held between us on the 20th of June 2009 at 1500 hours, I would like to present myself as a prospective lover. Our love affair would be on probation for a period of no less than three months and depending on compatibility, would be made permanent. Of course, upon completion of probation, there will be continuous relationship training and relationship appraisal schemes leading up to promotion from lover to spouse. The expenses incurred for coffee and entertainment would initially be shared equally between us. Later, based on your performance, I might take up a larger share of the expenses. However I am broad-minded enough, to be taken care of, on your expense account. I request you to kindly respond within 30 days of receiving this letter, failing which, this offer would be canceled without further notice and I shall be considering someone else. I would be happy, if you could forward this letter to your sister, if you do not wish to take up this offer.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours sincerely, Max

MODERN REPLY TO MODERN LOVE LETTER...

Dear Max,

Please refer to your letter dated today. I am pleased to inform you that I hope to accept your proposal for romance. However, you should be informed that there are certain conditions of acceptance. Promotional prospects are to my satisfaction. However, please enlighten me as to your retirement benefits. Gratuity should be generous. I also need to be assured that there is sufficient security with regards to this commitment. If there is any chance at all of retrenchment or consequent disinterest on your part, then I should receive monetary compensation according to union standards.

Due to the nature of my position, I am sure you will agree that an expense account should be arranged for my access in light of the 'VIP'. I shall be entertaining. In addition, housing and transport allowances should be in order and nothing less than a Jaguar is in order.

Please also note that there should be no moonlighting restrictions placed on myself. If you are still interested in the relationship, please reply on an urgent basis as other prospective lovers have sent indications of interest.

Please also note that my sister is happily employed.

Yours perhaps, Samantha!

I hope you all are now efficiently trained in "How to write a letter"...
So be ready and make yourself to writing letters.

The above was shared by a friend of mine, courtesies to him.

#2-50 words

An urchin found it difficult to carry a bucket full of water from the pump, spilled water and giggled at his mistake; the other of his height took notice of it, and giggling with same enthusiasm, shared his load, yes love poured through innocence and simple childish act of sharing.

Saw these boys enjoying their little life before they once again contribute they fate to the hideous practice called "child Labor"
Now thats what I clicked with my words!!!

A mother tickled her son, on the way back from school. After all, caught in a sudden shower brought out the kid lingering inside her heart for so long- the boy replied with a cute little punch on her arm, as she lovingly started drying his wet dry with her saree end. Clicked! My love cornered!
