Two Cups of Coffee

Two cups of coffee
In a road side cafe.

Seldom clicking
But often whispering.

A lipstick stain
Around one rim.

The other juggle
with the nicotine smell.
To start an argument
They are left on the saucers.

To fill the hiatus
Spoons get dipped
Wheeled round

Sweet wishy washy.
The sugar pouches
Empty themselves.

The satisfied smiles
Or the agreeable
Eye lock
The last draught
Goes down.

Two cups of coffee
sit empty
Relaxed
And amused
In a road side cafe.

I have found all of your poetry thought provoking and touching in many ways. I will enjoy returning often.
